just a small critique: When dealing with assault rifle or pistol designs it is key to think how the operator will use them, is it intuitive(functions/features)? Is it easy to operate(comfort and functions)? Is it modular(for repairs or customizations)? If some features fail or is damaged, what would be its back up(sights, attachments)? Is it easy to carry for long periods of time? Even if the design is for a futuristic setting where they use lasers or any other lethal element, the basics of weapon designs still carry over. None the less, a great job on the overall shape of the pistols.
I agree, but honestly with a video game I'd rather have a weapon that is less function and more interesting to look at. There's 500 awesome sci-fi rifles out there that are cool to look at and functional, but they're all forgetable. Weapons like the chainsaw rifle from Gears of War is easy to remember because honestly it kind of doesn't make sense.
Upon that note, I would still be tweaking the designs (assuming there is an assault rifle in the game) to make sure it would be easy to hold, easy to reload, etc.
